Online Job Search Process
How does the online job search program work? (US, Canada , Europe applicants)
In our career center, you will be prompted to complete a Candidate Profile, which asks a series of questions and allows you to expand on certain content that is included in your resume, in addition to more specific information that is not articulated in your resume.
You will also have the opportunity to attach your actual resume to the Candidate Profile.
You must complete this process and reach the "Thank You" page for your information to be submitted.
Note: Applicants should not send an email to the Webmaster with an attached resume as Human Resources will only accept resumes through the online system.
How do I know if HR has received my online application? (US, Canada , Europe applicants) You must reach the "Thank You" page in order for your information to be submitted. You'll receive an email confirming receipt of your submission within 24 hours. Make sure you supply a reliable email address.
Website Technical Issues
When I select an option to look for a job in the US , Canada or Europe, nothing happens. Two scenarios are possible. First, a new window needs to open in order to view job openings. If a new window is not opening, you may have another window already open, but it is minimized. Try maximizing the other open windows to view the application. Otherwise, you may have an ad blocker that will not allow additional windows to open. In order to access our job openings, you need to disable the blocker.
The font size is too large to see all information in window. (US, Canada , Europe applicants) You may need to change the font size while you access the application. On the tool bar, click on "view," then "text size", then "medium." This should allow you to view the application in its entirety.
How do I copy and paste my resume or cover letter?
Open the document you wish to copy and paste.
Then, hold the left mouse button and drag to select the text you wish to copy.
Select the text you wish to copy, and then click right mouse button and select Copy. Your text is now stored on the computer clipboard.
Go back to the section on the career section where you wish to paste the text, and then, click in the text box with the left mouse button. Your cursor should now appear in the text box. With the right mouse button, select Paste. The selected text should now appear in the text box. The text box may have a scroll bar to help you see your text.
If you do not succeed, select the text you wish to remove the same way you selected it to copy, and press Delete on your keyboard.
The system tells me that my text is too large and cannot be saved. What should I do?
Please note that leading and trailing spaces are counted as characters. Also, spaces between characters and words count as characters. If you receive this message, you must remove parts of your text to accommodate the system. If you are certain that your text should be accepted, delete your Temporary Internet file and try again.
Which browsers does the online job search support? (US, Canada , Europe applicants)
The site supports Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 and above, Netscape Navigator 4.78 and above, and AOL version 6 and above on both Mac and PC.
I can’t remember my login information.
On the login page, two links are available to prompt the system to email you your username and password: Forgot username? and Forgot password?. Click these links and follow the prompts. The system will identify you by your email address.
The system tells me that I already have an account with my username, but I can’t log in with it.
If requesting your password using the link isn’t working, it’s possible that the system is telling you that someone else created an account with username that you have entered. Create a new registration with a different username or click the Forgot username? link to retrieve the correct login information.

Diversity
How does The McGraw-Hill Companies define diversity?
The McGraw-Hill Companies defines diversity in the workplace as an inclusive environment that respects and values each individual, their experience, perspective and contribution to the Corporation.
What is your policy on hiring for diversity?
The McGraw-Hill Companies is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity for all employees and applicants for employment. Advancement opportunities and employment decisions will be made without regard to race, religion, sex, color, citizenship status, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, national origin, veteran status or any other characteristic protected under federal, state or local law.
However, the Corporation’s commitment to diversity extends beyond equal employment opportunity obligations; it is a value that is imperative to our business success. As global competition increases, we are committed to creating products and services that exceed our customer’s expectations and employing a diverse talent pool that understands and can meet those needs.
In addition, we sponsor and recruit prospective employees at national diversity recruiting events such as the National Black MBA Association, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and the National Journalist Associations. Our sponsorship includes national print advertising and job fair participation with these associations. We also sponsor various programs that attract and cultivate talented minority students to our Corporation.
How can employees participate in diversity and inclusion initiatives at The McGraw-Hill Companies?
Our approach to diversity and inclusion starts with our senior management team. Each year, chief executive officer Harold McGraw III holds 13 forums with employees from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to gauge their views on our employee and business strategies. The Corporation reports annually on its diversity progress to The McGraw-Hill Companies’ senior management team and Board of Directors.
The grass-roots driven Employee Resource Groups are formed around a shared set of interests, experiences and perspectives such as diversity characteristics that address race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or parental status. ERGs support employees by providing a powerful means to enhance professional development, such as mentoring, training and networking opportunities, through formal group meetings and event-based activities.
In addition to ERGs, local Diversity Councils help support a culture of diversity and inclusion. The groups are integral to growing and sustaining diversity, inclusion and work/life as a business imperative to the organization, in that each group serves as a structured connection between group members and The McGraw-Hill Companies' leadership.
Through programs, such as our Lunch and Learn workshops and diversity recognition events, the Corporation provides employees with a forum to recognize national observances, such as Women’s History Month, Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

How does The McGraw-Hill Companies demonstrate its commitment to the diverse external community?
Through its Community Partners program, the Corporation serves customers, employees and shareholders alike, reaching across the globe to help people around the world learn, grow, acquire new skills, better their lives and better their communities. The Corporation also supports national Diversity Recognition awards programs such as the Harlem YMCA Black Achievers in Industry, The YWCA Salute to Women Leaders, and the National Hispanic Corporate Achievers, which serve to recognize diverse employees for their performance, professionalism, leadership and community service.
