1. How do I apply for an internship?
To apply, you will need to go to The McGraw-Hill Companies’ Career Site – http://www.mcgraw-hill.com/careers and formally submit your profile to the specific internship you are interested in.  A recruiter will follow-up with you and discuss the opportunity.

2. What qualifications are required for an internship?
To be considered for The McGraw-Hill Companies Internship Program, you must:

  1. be a full-time student at an accredited college/university
    1. maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
    2. entering your sophomore, junior or senior year in college, or in a masters degree or doctorate program
  2. eligible to work in the U.S.

3. At which locations do you offer internship opportunities?

4. How long do internships last?
Most summer internships will last approximately 12 weeks, however a select number of internships are year-round or vary slightly from the 12 week timeframe.

5. What can I expect from my internship?
The Internship Program’s mission is to offer college students an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience by participating on project teams and contributing to department initiatives.

6. Do I have to be a U.S. Citizen for an internship in the U.S.?
All qualified students will be interviewed for internships.  For U.S.-based internships, you must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

7. Is this a paid internship program?
 Yes.  All interns of this program are paid a competitive salary based on set criteria.

8. How many internship opportunities are available?
Internship opportunities are based upon the specific needs of the business.  In 2007, we had more than 200 interns join The McGraw-Hill Companies.

9. When is the application deadline?
Applications and interviews will be ongoing until all the internship positions are filled.

10. Does The McGraw-Hill Companies pay for relocation and/or housing allowance?
Any relocation and/or housing allowance will be at the discretion of the hiring manager.

11. What training do interns receive?
All interns will have the opportunity to participate in various training programs such as communications skills training, leadership development, digital training,  through instructor led or Web classes.

12. Will an internship with The McGraw-Hill Companies guarantee a full-time job when I graduate?
 No, but upon graduation, you will have the opportunity to apply for any  position listed on The McGraw-Hill Companies’ Web site to be considered for a full-time position.

13. Do I have to go through a background check?
  Background checks for interns will be determined by the individual business unit.
