    CEO / Employee Forums

We encourage an open channel of communications between our senior management and all employees. So we hold regular CEO/Employee Forums where Harold McGraw III, our Chairman, President and CEO, listens, offers his perspective and learns—inviting all participating employees to do the same.

Past Forums have included discussions with diverse constituencies: employees with flexible work arrangements, Hispanic employees, part-time employees, summer interns, leaders of Employee Resource Groups and working parents.

Mr. McGraw also visits the corporation’s offices and facilities worldwide to speak to employees. In these sessions, employees are encouraged to raise questions and speak candidly about their on-the-job experiences. These events also offer an opportunity for Mr. McGraw to thank employees for their contributions to The McGraw-Hill Companies, discuss corporate performance and outline upcoming opportunities and challenges.

In addition, these visits honor recipients of the “CEO/MVP” awards—the Most Valuable Partner distinction. With this recognition, Mr. McGraw and The McGraw-Hill Companies salute individuals who have done outstanding volunteer work to benefit their communities. In addition to citations of appreciation, $1,000 (or the currency equivalent) is awarded to nonprofit organizations where CEO/MVP award recipients volunteer.
