Supporting Adoption

Adopting a child can be an expensive and time-consuming experience for many expectant parents, but there are a few resources available to defray those costs and make the process easier. As part of The McGraw-Hill Companies’ commitment to enhance our employees’ personal lives, we have one of nation’s foremost corporate programs for adoption assistance.

Each year, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption releases a list of the 100 most adoption friendly workplaces in the United States.

In 2008, McGraw-Hill ranked 14th on this national list of companies who make adoption easier for their employees.

In addition to the paid maternity/paternity leave that all employees receive, adoptive parents in the US receive a $10,000 payment to defray the lofty costs of adoption, and to help ease the path for all new parents.
