Employee Communications

Open, transparent communications between employees and their managers is the hallmark of a healthy organization. The McGraw-Hill Companies fosters this openness through print and online communications vehicles, training for managers in communications, and our Code of Business Ethics.

If there is a problem in the workplace, employees are encouraged to start with their manager or Human Resources representative. If this is not possible, then employees can go to the next highest level of management or the Corporate Equal Employment Opportunity office, depending on the nature of the issue.

If these methods do not resolve the issue, employees can also make a complaint (or offer a constructive comment) through the Employee Hotline. This toll-free hotline, accessible 24 hours / day, globally except where limited by law, provides an anonymous path to report violations of corporate policy and the law, workplace concerns, and other related issues.

Employees also have recourse to the FAIR (Fast and Impartial Resolution) Program, a voluntary alternative dispute resolution program, which is in place to address problems in the workplace that need a more formal or mediated response.
