The McGraw-Hill Companies welcomes
requests for strategic program support (Note: we do not provide
general operating support). Each grant recipient is required
to provide us with twice-yearly progress reports detailing
the measurable results achieved by our grant, in relation
to objectives set out in the grant request.
If your organization meets
requirements outlined above in "Giving Guidelines"
and you would like to submit a request for funding, please
structure your proposal to include the following four items.

Program
Narrative
- Please limit to no more than three pages

Organization
Overview
- A brief description of your organization's
mission and goals.
- Description of current programs, activities
and accomplishments.
- Population the organization benefits:
socio-economic status and age.
- Your current year's budget.
- Your organization's capacity
- Sources of funding, and dollar amount
from each.

Grant
Purpose
- Concise description of the program for which you seek
support, and how it contributes to your organization's overall
mission.
- Clearly stated objectives.
- Clearly defined deliverables.
- Timeline for implementation and completion.
- Quantifiable and qualitative measurements to evaluate
program effectiveness and impact.
- Budget required to conduct the program for which you seek
support.
- Whether the organization intends to engage employee volunteers
from The McGraw-Hill Companies through the project.
- Grant amount requested from The McGraw-Hill Companies.
- List other sources of support you are soliciting to fund
this program and, to the best of your knowledge, the status
of your proposal with each.

Required
Attachments
- A copy of your organization's most recent
audited financial statement, annual report, and evidence
of your 501(c)(3) public charity status under the U.S. Internal
Revenue Code.
- One-paragraph resumes of the organization's
key staff
- A list of your Board of Directors, indicating
the affiliation of each board member
- To comply with laws legislated
by the USA Patriot Act and Executive Order 13224, please
attach a one-page statement, on your organization letterhead,
as follows:
- (Name of your organization) affirms
that no portion of funds, if granted by The McGraw-Hill
Companies, will be used to support terrorist activity
either directly or indirectly."
- Include your organization's
full name, complete street address; print the name and
title of the authorizer (must be at officer level-executive
director, president or chief financial officer), with
authorizer's signature); and date of signature.

If your request is considered eligible
under The McGraw-Hill Companies' Giving Guidelines, a meeting
may be arranged with the Corporate Contributions and Community
Relations staff. On-site visits may also be made. The Corporate
Contributions and Community Relations Department accepts proposals
on an ongoing basis; funding decisions are made quarterly.
Grants are not renewed automatically. Your request for renewed
support must be submitted each year, accompanied by all of
the "Required Attachments" listed above under "How
to Apply for Support."
