September 2007: The McGraw-Hill Companies is ranked by CRO magazine as one of the Top Ten Best Corporate Citizens in the Media/Publishing industry in 2007. The list is determined using a broad base of data to evaluate environmental, social, governance and financial issues, and corporations are assessed on how they measure up against their sector peers.
June 26, 2007 BusinessWeek to launch a special CSR ad section — "CSR: Leadership for Sustainability in a Networked World" — in its September 24, 2007 global edition. The ad section will illustrate the ways that companies are developing new forms of leadership needed to advance sustainable business, and inspire others to innovate further.
June 25, 2007 AVIATION WEEK announces plans to host the Green Aviation Management Forum on September 12 in Brussels, Belgium. The forum will examine issues of environmental strategy within the aviation industry and explore sustainable solutions, including emissions trading, alternative fuels, and air traffic management.
May 23, 2007 The McGraw-Hill Companies is among the five winners of this year's prestigious Points of Light Awards for Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs. Mar. 1, 2007: Standard and Poor's announces the launch of its Global Thematic Index Series. The Series is composed of three indices: the S&P Global Clean Energy Index, the S&P Global Water Index and the S&P Global Infrastructure Index. S&P Global Thematic Index Series consists of publicly listed companies from around the world. The series steers away from traditional geographical and industry classifications, looking to diversify company selection by following specific criteria for each index.
February 14, 2007: CRO/Business Ethics magazine for the second consecutive year recognizes McGraw-Hill on their annual survey of "100 Best Corporate Citizens". The survey which has gained recognition as an indicator of best practices in the area of corporate responsibility shows that McGraw-Hill is ranked 44th on the 2007 list, moving up from its 57th spot of last year.
February 8, 2007: The McGraw-Hill Companies has been included as a part of the Global ECPI Ethical Index. Based in Milan, Italy, the ECPI analyzes, evaluates and updates the ethical rating and status of the investment universe. GreenSource, The Magazine of Sustainable Design will present news, features, case studies of important projects, and green product information to more than 40,000 architects, interior designers, building owners, and members of the U.S. Green Building Council.

April 28, 2006: The McGraw-Hill Companies' Writers to the Rescue (WTR) Program is awarded the annual Pro Bono Award by the Taproot Foundation, the provider of pro bono services to the nonprofit sector.
