Since the 1990's, The McGraw-Hill Companies has maintained a partnership with Morris High School Campus in New York City, which includes an annual scholarship program, student mentoring opportunities for our employees, and faculty development. The corporation's support focuses on programs that align with student academic success, student retention and engaging students in real world experiences. In place of the original Morris school, there are currently five small public high schools at the Morris Campus; The McGraw-Hill Companies partners with them all.

The corporation's Human Resources Community Services Team partners with one of the domestic violence shelters operated by Safe Horizon, the nation's leading nonprofit victim assistance, advocacy, and violence prevention organization with more than 80 programs throughout New York's five boroughs. Since 2004, the team has developed a variety of projects at the facility including creating a library; and hosting social activities for the resident's children and their mothers.

Recognizing the importance of board service as a further means of supporting nonprofits, for the past several years, the corporation has worked with the Volunteer Consulting Group to develop a nonprofit board placement initiative for its employees. This initiative offers a multi-pronged approach to recruiting employees for board service; including an online tool to assist employees find board service opportunities and nonprofit boards find members.
