The Dragon Boat Race
One of the ways that our UK employee volunteer team supports the community.

 

The McGraw-Hill Companies supports the community service activities of its various offices around the world in a variety of ways. These include:

  • Volunteer recognition awards
  • Project grants
  • Online volunteer opportunities resource center.
As a result, we are helping to cultivate a strong network of community service teams across our corporation and around the globe. Highlights of activity include:
  • Community Partners/UK Community Engagement Committee, which partners with a local school, organizes blood, suit and coat drives through the year, and takes part in the annual dragon boat race for charity;
  • Polaris Activities Committee in Columbus, OH, which organizes a number of employee volunteer projects throughout the year, has received the Outstanding Community Partner Award from the Coalition on Housing and Homelessness for its ongoing efforts on behalf of the organization.
  • CTB CARE team in Monterey, CA, which aligns cash contributions with employee-driven volunteer projects, to support local nonprofits such as the Monterey Museum of Art, the Boys and Girls Club and the American Cancer Society, and meets other educational, cultural, and community needs.
  • Hightstown Employee Activities Team (H.E.A.T.) in Hightstown, NJ, which regularly offers employees the opportunity to volunteer for organizations like the Children's Home Society of New Jersey, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Family Guidance Center.
  • The Houston, TX Platts Outreach/Activities Team, which has a longstanding relationshiop with the Houston READ Commission. has participated in reading initiatives and regularly partners with local schools annually during Global Volunteer Day.
  • The J.D. Power and Associates team in Westlake Village, CA, engages in various drives and volunteer activities with local community organizations, such as an Interface Children Family Services and the Special Olympics throughout the year.
