For more than one hundred years, The McGraw-Hill Companies has been committed to improving the communities in which it operates and to helping people develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

The Corporation’s formal philanthropic efforts began in 1958. Over the years these programs have grown into a far-reaching network of services and support designed to support our commitment to giving back and our employees' volunteerism and community involvement.
Today, The McGraw-Hill Companies reaches across the globe to serve its customers, employees, shareholders and communities. Its mission remains simple: to use the fiscal and human resources of the company to help people around the world learn, grow, acquire new skills and better their lives, and in doing so, better their communities.
For the past 22 years, the Corporation has awarded the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education to individuals who have committed themselves to improving education in the U.S. The Prize was established to honor the lifelong commitment to education of our Chairman Emeritus and to mark the Corporation's 100th anniversary.
