McGraw-Hill Construction's Architectural Record Recognized by American Illustration
NEW YORK, May 28 /PRNewswire/ — Illustrations from McGraw-Hill Construction's Architectural Record were recently honored in the prestigious American Illustration competition, which recognizes the best emerging and cutting-edge talent in editorial illustration.
From a record-breaking 8,100 illustration submissions, a jury of top art directors and illustrators selected the best images from 2008. Two portraits featuring architects Gianni Botsford and Smiljan Radic from Architectural Record's Vanguard issue (December 2008) were selected for the American Illustration AI28 web gallery of winning images, which will launch in November 2009 at http://www.ai-ap.com/. Architectural Record commissioned artist Deanna Staffo to create the winning images.
The American Illustration awards are the latest in a string of honors received this year by Architectural Record and ArchitecturalRecord.com, which provide a mix of print and multimedia news and information. Earlier this year, Architectural Record Editor-in-Chief Robert Ivy was honored as American Business Media's (ABM) 2009 Crain Award Winner, and ArchitecturalRecord.com was named Min's Best of the Web for Editorial Excellence in the B2B category as well as the Magazine Publishers of America's 2009 Website of the Year in the Enthusiast category. Architectural Record also received three 2009 ABM Neal Awards for "Best Single Issue of a Magazine," "Best Website," and "Best Online Article or Series."
